Welcome...

I will talk about anything and everything here. You'll probably realize though pretty quickly that I'm somewhat obsessed with cooking and entertaining...but I do have other interests.

Adjusting to life in America

My husband and I relocated to Louisiana in July after 9 years in Germany.  To say we've adjusted would be an understatement.  But we're getting there.  Some of my top peeves thus far:
1.  Rushing through dinner out.  When you spend a long time in Europe you get used to having your table in a restaurant to yourself for as long as you want it.  The restaurant industry there does not revolve around the almightly Euro (why I'm not sure) so guests are encouraged to take their time ordering, eating, and paying the bill.  I've had indigestion since July.
2.  Drivers.  Although I got my first license while living in this wonderful state, I'm appalled at the lack of driving skills here.  Does anyone know how to use a turn signal?  And put the cell phone DOWN and DRIVE.
3. Air conditioning.  We've been without central air for 9 years.  Although I am most thankful for it when it's hot outside, and God does it get hot here, I am not able to sleep with it on high.  My sinuses continue to revolt.
